This tube was used in projection radar during WW2. Where the beam writes on the face it absorbs light. A high intensity light was focused on the face and projected through a lens to a large screen producing a black on white radar display.

Had power supply only in an open frame wood box for use in classrooms.
5FP25 5" diameter CRT
This was a very popular magnetic deflection tube from the 40's through the 60's.
It was available in almost all phosphers including P7 (WW2 Radar Screen) and P4 B/W
screen.
The P4 version was used in the B&K TV Analysist Flying Spot Scanner and as a test tube
for TV repairmen.
